In Choi (2025), the author mistakenly suggested that Cyclidius axillaris (currently Paracyclidius axillaris) might be a misidentification of Clinterocera discipennis. This error is corrected here. P. axillaris is a valid species occurring in the Neotropical region, and the suggestion of potential synonymy was the result of the author’s failure to examine relevant specimens, including type material preserved in museum collections. Furthermore, the specimen illustrated as Cy. elongatus (Figure 1D) was misidentified and is in fact Cy. lacordairei. The genus Cyclidius is currently composed of four recognized species; for a more detailed treatment of the group, see Rodrigues et al. (2025).
